Lidia Matticchio Bastianich is the author of five previous books, four of them accompanied by nationally syndicated public television series. She is the owner of the New York City restaurant Felidia (among others), and she lectures on and demonstrates Italian cooking throughout the country. She lives on Long Island.

It will be because I had the opportunity to meet and interview the amazing Lidia Bastianich, whose latest book "Lidia Cooks from the Heart of Italy" should be on every Italophile's shelf.

Bastianich is a calm, cool, and collected cook who nevertheless exudes passion for her country of origin and its amazingly diverse regional cuisines.
