A Conversation with David Sax

If this interview doesn't send you running to your local sandwich shop, I don't know what will. I didn't say "running to your local deli" because, well, as author of "Save the Deli: In Search of Perfect Pastrami, Crusty Rye, and the Heart of the Jewish Delicatessen" David Sax and I know, true delicatessens aren't easy to find these days. (Fortunately I have one close by; I don't visit often enough, which is probably good news for my heart.)

That's unfortunate, since a good pastrami on rye is a thing of beauty. (Don't faint, vegan readers. Just think of this as paying attention to ethnic cuisine.) However, that's not what Sax would place for his dream deli order...

I'll spare you the usual "Watch to find out!" language. Instead, I'll say watch this video because Sax is an informed, lively author whose passion for his subject may just have you looking up the location of your nearest traditional deli.
