We like to mix things up a little here at The Book Studio. I've interviewed Steve Berry once before for this site -- and once previously, when we were a little vlog called "Author, Author!" I knew Berry had a new novel out this winter called "The Paris Vendetta," but I also knew that I'd already talked with him about his research methods, his series protagonist Cotton Malone, and why he writes historical thrillers. I wanted something new. Something different.
Hmmmm. What would that something be? Then it hit me -- it would have to be a "somebody," specifically Steve Berry's lovely wife Liz. Berry, his publicist, and I conspired a little to get Liz Berry on camera.
However, it wasn't simply to show you that Liz Berry is lovely that I wanted to get her on camera. Steve and Liz have developed a new forum for saving historical items (be those items documents, buildings, or artifacts) called "History Matters," and Liz is instrumental in that endeavor. She's also one-half of the dynamic duo that puts together each year's ThrillerFest conference, a logistical nightmare that nonetheless results in dreams coming true for readers who get to meet and chat with their favorite authors.
If you watch this video, you'll also get a great sense of the genuine affection Steve and Liz Berry have for each other. Of course, they've only been married for two years -- virtual newlyweds! Enjoy, and please let us know what you think.

Love the joint interview
I love the inclusion of Liz Berry in this interview, and the discussion of History Matters. One of my most enjoyable author experiences was at the Udvar-Hazy Center, listening to an astronaut/author speak and then being able to talk to his wife at the signing table to get her perspective on his experiences, as well.
