O'Rourke and I had a tough time finding a quiet place to conduct this interview; a DC hotel on a weekday morning is filled with all sorts of waitstaff, housekeepers, and maintenance people running vacuum cleaners, communicating via walkie-talkie, and filling bins with breakfast dishes and linens.
