A Conversation with Neil deGrasse Tyson

The Pluto Files: The Rise and Fall of America's Favorite Planet

In the best of all possible worlds, Neil deGrasse Tyson would write this blog entry for me, because the man is an endless font of information. However, I discovered something new: The astrophysicist and Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History alsorocks a pretty mean falsetto: Just before he entered our studio, I was singing Jackson Browne's "Stay" with one of our crew members. deGrasse Tyson didn't miss a beat; he joined in. If only the cameras had been rolling...

Of course, once the cameras actually were rolling, deGrasse Tyson shifted seamlessly into a discussion of his latest book, "The Pluto Files." Truly, I don't want to tell you any more, because this is one interview you've just got to watch to appreciate. I hope you enjoy -- I certainly did!
